TSAGAAN SUVARGA
Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) Mongolia
Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) is 400 meters long cliff that was formed around 10 million years ago when it was covered by a sea. Over the millennia the sea dried up and the erosion eventually created these distinctive looking structures known as escarpments. The erosion also exposed around different areas on the soil that met with oxygen create the brilliant colors of white, yellow and purple.
The top of the 40 meters high cliff is mostly covered with loose rocks. So it makes walking around its edge a little freaky. Ancient hunters use a stack to their advantage by driving herds of gazelles over the edge for sure kill. You can spend a short time around the area
