KHOTON & KHURGAN LAKES
Khoton & Khurgan lakes are crystal clear lakes located in the very west of Mongolia and following the Altai mountain range in Altai Tavan Bogd national park. Khoton And Khurgan lakes have long and relaxing views of happy nomadic life that living during the summer by surrounding these two lakes. The surface area is 50.1 km2; the average depth is 26.6 m; the maximum depth is approximately 58 m. Khoton nuur has one Iceland which is covered by woods. Khoton lake connected to Khurgan lake by a wide channel with a beautiful wooden bridge, also it is the source of the Hovd River which drains the whole Mongolian Altai.
Lake Khoton was formed by glacial blockages. Khurgan nuur is the lowest point of Altai Tavan Bogd National park.
There are many fishes in Khoton and Khurgan lakes.
